Some of you may know about the Parti-poodles not being able to use the name poodle anymore if the FCI ( and perhaps also the French Poodle club) have their way. They are suggesting that they be called Wooly German dog.Now that they will not have docked tails anymore...

Can someone tell me what these guys are, now that we're even adopting the pseudo "working cut" to put us one step closer to people thinking Barbet people are completely off thier wagons..if we were to cut all the coat off of a Barbet and a poodle: how many could say what is what? or who is what?

I would add that I thoroughly support the Parti poodle cause. At least their dogs look like what they're supposed to.

Then to add insult to injury, a non scientific person, who can of course and thank gawd read a standard for 2.5 hours but not know how to interpret it tells us we have to mix the Barbet blood to refresh the poodles? This is all fine and dandy for all you future potential breeders thinking you are going to have puppies, Barbets, of course..but how can you be sure? Will you be piling up a poodle SWD mix with another poodle? Then you will have gained 5 cms on the pups and a tail over the back?

A Barbet is a Barbet and has barbet blood. Gees.If it doesn't have any Barbet blood regardless of what anyone says, it ain't a Barbet.
No one can say that I'm wrong or they would have already said it.
I don't see anyone coming out and prouving otherwise.
Keep selling them dogs.

Babaloo is the daughter of Quäciendas Aubey and Compay II and lives in the Netherlands.
